Reset Address Dialog

The reset address dialog can be accessed from the serial panel. It gives you a means of reprogramming the address of one RIO device, even when multiple RIO devices have been accidentally programmed to the same address.

This feature is a handy way to resolve an address collision. Without it, you would need to power down one unit so that you could reprogram the other. Otherwise, Modbus requests to change the address would simply change the address on both units.

To use the reset dialog, you will need to know three things:

• The RIO device's model
• The RIO device's serial number
• The new address you wish to program

Enter the requested information into the dialog and click Broadcast to reprogram the RIO device. Click Cancel to abort.
