The PGM Jumper is tested only at power-up. Connecting a shunt to the jumper during operation will have no effect until the RIO device is powered off and back on.
Some RIO device models include a jumper which will reset the device settings at power-up.
Near the center of the RIO device, you may find a two-pin jumper labeled J3. At power-up, the RIO device checks to see if these pins are shorted with a shunt. If shunted, the RIO device will reset the following EEPROM contents to the factory defaults:
Be sure to remove the jumper after power-up so that future changes to the EEPROM will not be lost if the RIO device ever loses power.
